Anti wrinkle injections

Prices
Anti-wrinkle injections commonly known by many as the brand name Botox work by causing the facial muscles to relax, smoothening the appearance of wrinkles that occur naturally with age and help prevent further ageing of the skin. Like all procedures, a pre-treatment consultation is mandatory to assess suitability for treatment.
How does it work?

Through regular facial expression, the muscles of the face contract. Over the years this can create lines and wrinkles in the face that can become present at rest, this process can be further accelerated by other factors including stress, sun exposure, smoking, alcohol intake and hormonal influences. During facial expression, a message is sent via nerves from the brain to the muscles instructing them to contract. Anti-wrinkle injections can block this message meaning the muscles are unable to crease the skin. This treatment has a wide range of applications to treat the full face. The most commonly requested indication for anti-wrinkle injections is to smoothen out lines on the forehead, frown lines and lines around the eyes (crows feet

What does the treatment involve?

Anti-wrinkle injections are carried out using a fine needle targeting specific muscles with minimal discomfort. They do not require any anaesthesia (numbing), and you can carry on your normal activities afterwards. The treatment itself takes a matter of minutes following which the results take 7-14 days to take effect.

How long will treatment last?

Anti-wrinkle injections typically last 3-6 months. As the effects wear off muscle action gradually returns, the lines and wrinkles reappear and require re-treatment. However, with time the lines and wrinkles appear less severe.

What are the potential side effects?

Following treatment, you will be provided with verbal and written aftercare instructions to minimise your risk of side effects. Temporary minor bruising is a common side effect. Less commonly reported are headaches that last 24-48hours after treatment.

Your practitioner will discuss all the pros and cons of treatment during a mandatory pre-treatment consultation to ensure you are happy to commence with treatment.

Will my face be frozen?

The 'Frozen' look is typically associated with the use of too much anti-wrinkle injection in one area. Every course of treatment is custom-tailored to the individual. During the free pre-treatment consultation, your practitioner can discuss the areas requiring treatment to achieve your desired look.
